Hunter is a powerful, stable and driven male that we feel represents true balance and working ability in the German Shepherd dog; He exhibits bomb proof nerve, unshakable environmental soundness and an on/off switch that makes Hunter a phenomenal working dog and a stable family companion. Hunter is very clear headed and highly intelligent, able to learn new things impressively fast with enthusiasm and joy in the work. Hunter has exceptional genetic obedience and a willingness to please his handler that makes working with him and training him extremely enjoyable and easy.
Hunter is social and friendly with the correct amount of aloofness - he is safe with children (of all ages) and other animals. He is reliable on and off leash in every environment with handler focus and high pack drive. Although Hunter is a high drive dog, he settles in the home perfectly and is a calm, alert companion who makes an excellent deterrent that has the right drives and temperament to protect his home and family.
Hunter is trained as a wildlife control K9 for the Region of Waterloo International Airport in Ontario, Canada. His job is to patrol the inner property of the Airport and keep run ways and surrounding areas clear of all wildlife. He is worked off leash in a hectic environment, among loud planes, large groups of people and in all weather conditions. He works in and around piles of debris and equipment, loud engines, heat and more. Hunter is now retired (after 1.5 years of work) in pursuit of other endeavors.
Hunter is semi-retired from sport and work to be an active service dog.
